Today we have a story that is all about violence, killing, murder, and mayhem! Do I have your attention? Good. The people over at Game Career Guide have a challenge for you. Build the next massively popular First Person Shooter game…..but only use one button!
What a catch, huh? No analog stick, no mouse input, just a simple on/off input switch. This is a challenge from GameCareerGuide.com under their one new challenge per week theme. Once a week they put up a criteria for a new game then take ideas from the public. The best submission or sales pitch wins.
This week the rules are simple. Build an fps using one button. Describe the game idea, mechanics, platform, target audience, and why the game will be the next big addiction in 500 words or less. Sounds simple, right? Give it a shot!
This is a great opportunity for disabled gamers to advocate the reasons that a game can sell without a complicated keyboard or joystick layout. Brandon Sheffield of Gamasutra and game developer magazine came up with the idea. He is assisting judging the one button fps contest.
Email your game idea to gamecareerguide -@- gmail.com by June 18 2008. Additionally, you can view the official contest page at gamecareerguide.com
