6. Thanks...
Thanks for this article and I completely agree up to the point of saying that EA isn't the problem.

Yes, it is true that this DMR is the major source of the headaches, but EA lies and denies everything. I've been one of those people fighting with them about this and for everything they claim SecuROM doesn't do, it's been proven otherwise.

Example: They said that SecuROM doesn't call home, but when records were posted showing that it does, they said it was just Bon Voyage making sure the person had a legal copy. How many times does it have to be proven that a person has a purchased copy? :x

7. Sims 2 Bon Voyage (back on topic)
The biggest offense to users who bought the game legally and installed it, only to find that their cd writing programs no longer worked, is that EA installed secureROM without their permission. Isn't that something a virus or trojan does?
Does that officially classify BV as one of those types of programs? What does that make the company EA?

8. owner
Warden for wow does some pretty impressive stuff too, and is also being adopted/copied by others in the industry. It reads you contacts list to see if you've dealt with any known gold dealers, that's just the beginning. I wrote a full article on it at www.rpgreseller.com

9. STEAM doesn't work
Someone said STEAM works, but that's not true at all!! :(

hacked copies are available for both episodes, and steam doesn't prevent cheating. If you don't believe me, log into a CS:Source and you will count 10 cheaters in 10 minutes. :cry

I have reported the problem to both Valve and steam and they reply with a BS :roll corporate answer. "Steam works and prevents hacks" they say. They say that because they have no choice.

Oh yeah and DRM is terrible too. Just ad in action figures with each pc title, a collector's item or something and bam, piracy drops.
